Long Term Parking at Chicago O'Hare
If you're leaving town for a few days, and need to leave your car behind, you have many options for long term parking at Chicago O'Hare Airport. If you're leaving the country, the most convenient of these options is parking Lot D, which is next to the international terminal (Terminal 5) and costs $50 per day. Ouch. If you want to save some money, you may be best off parking outside of the O'Hare Airport campus at one of the many parking lots that offer long-term parking to O'Hare travelers. However, there are alternatives to Lot D within O'Hare that can cost you as little as $9 per day. Shuttles and tram (ATS) provide service to the O'Hare terminals, but give yourself plenty of time.
On-Site Long Term Parking
On-site long-term parking is available at Chicago O'Hare Airport at prices ranging from $9 to $50 a day. There are a number of lots to choose from:
- Lot D - $50/day
- This lot situated next to Terminal 5 (International Terminal), is really not meant for long-term parking, but if you want to park here you can. It'll cost you a pretty penny though.
- Lot A - $30/day
- This is also know as Garage A, because, you guessed it, it's in the garage (levels 2-6). This is close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
- Lot B - $30/day
- Right next to the garage. Close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
- Lot C - $30/day
- Like Lot B, it's in front of the garage. Close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
- Lot E - $16/day
- An economy parking lot. Park and then you can either wait for a shuttle bus (make sure you wait at one of the shuttle bus stops inside the lot) to take you to the ATS station or you can walk to the ATS station, which will take you to the O'Hare terminals. Give yourself 30 minutes at least to get to your terminal.
- Lot F - $9/day
- An economy parking lot. Again, use a shuttle bus to get to the ATS station. Shuttles run 24/7. Lot F is further out there, so give yourself at least 45 minutes to get to your terminal.
- Lot G - $13/day
- An economy parking lot. As with Lots E and F, use the shuttle to get to the ATS station. The shuttle and ATS are free, by the way, and run continually, at all hours and every day.
If you plan on parking for longer than 30 days in any of the O'Hare parking lots, you need to make arrangements beforehand: (773) 686-7530. Otherwise, your car will be considered abandoned and towed at your expense.
Reservations for official O'Hare parking lots are not taken. You pay when you exit. Credit cards are accepted.
Off-Site Long Term Parking
You can also find long-term parking off of the Chicago O'Hare campus. If you planning on staying overnight at an O'Hare area hotel so that you can catch an early morning flight, you may be able to take advantage of special discounts offered by the hotel. Some park and fly hotels offer deals where if a guest books a room, they will get a week (or more) of free parking. Can you beat that?
Remember also that O'Hare's own airport lots are on a first-come, first-serve basis, that means you just might find yourself out of luck during certain times of the year, such as the holidays. The benefit of off-site parking lots is that many of them take reservations. Some of them may also be more secure than parking at O'Hare Airport. Some parking lot operators allow booking via third-party websites.
