Duty Free Americas

The World Duty Free shops at Chicago O'Hare International Airport offer a splendid variety of duty free gifts including colognes, perfumes, leather goods, jewelry, chocolates, and much much more.

Duty-free shopping means no taxes or duties are applied. The world's first duty free shop opened at Shannon Airport in Ireland in 1950 and remains open for business today. The duty free store was an immediate success and has been copied worldwide.

If you are traveling on a long-haul route with at least one transit stop between your departure airport and destination airport, you are advised to buy your duty free alcohol or perfume at the last transit port. Otherwise your liquids may be confiscated by security when you board at your transit port if you exceed the current limit on liquids in hand baggage. This does not apply to passengers transferring within the EU on the same day, as long as the liquid item is sealed in a plastic bag with the receipt clearly showing in the bag.
