Chicago Historical Society Gift Shop

The Chicago Historical Society Gift Shop opened at Chicago O'Hare Airport in 2002, and has had a very successful run. The Chicago Tribune reported:

"Things have been flying off the shelf," said CHS store manager Beth Hubbartt, of the outlet's opening weeks. "And we've sold out several items that have had to be replenished. The No. 1 seller has been a Chicago Fire Department hat for kids."

The satellite store, known as Chicago: Then and Now, is a first for the Historical Society, whose merchandising up to now has been confined to the gift shop in its Lincoln Park museum. And the store puts the CHS in the company of the Field Museum of Natural History in having a retail outlet at O'Hare.

Additional information about the store's offerings, which include Chicago photographic prints, Chicago history magazines and books, posters, prints, maps, apparel, t-shirts, jewelry and even home decor can be found at ChicagoToGo.org
